The Berkshires skiing season is underway in time for the Christmas holiday. Overnight temperatures are forecast to be cold enough for snow making and daytime highs will should not reach 40 degrees through the weekend.

Ski Butternut in Gt. Barrington reports that 15 out of 22 trails are open; in Hancock, Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort has 24 trails open, Bousquet Ski Area in Pittsfield has 10 trails open, and straddling the NY MA border near Egremont, Catamount Ski Area has 15 trails open.
